Lately there has seemed to be a few very wild E15ET’s popping up over Australia looking to gain a postion on the E15ET top 10 and Robs ET is certainly one of these. Rob Schmidt is a Brisbane boy and has been building this ET for quite some time now. But as you can see the wait was definately worth while. And of course since you are a Brissy boy building a drag strip dedicated 4 cylinder, you definetely dont miss racing at the biggest event of the year; Jamboree 2003. Everything about this car suggests professionalism and this is all due to Milanco Performance Engineering based in Brisbane. The guys at Milanco have performed the entire list of go-fast modifications and were all there on race day to make sure the car ran to plan. The Jamboree was first time the team had completed a ‘full power’ pass with the car. Test and Tune events before the Jamboree indicated that the std engine mounts were not up to the job and some solid items where made up for the Jamboree.
The final product of the event was a 13.46 @ 104 MPH which also was the ET’s only full pass for the event. Not bad considering it was also the cars first ever full power pass for any 1/4 mile run. This is a great base for the car to start on and some further tuning and chassis setup should see this ET into the 12’s in the near future.
We will be keeping a close eye on this wild and exceptionally built ET to track its progress on the quater mile. The 13.46 is just a sign of things to come from this car in the future. Be sure to check out the list of custom mods this thing has!
