Alex, a member of the N12 Facebook Group recently posted about participating in the Mystery Box Rally 2022.
To show our support, I figured the least we could do is write a short article about Alex’s participation and the event!
Mystery Box Rally is an annual event dedicated to raising much needed funds to support cancer research. By getting out and doing something unique, positive and proactive, it brings an element of fun and excitement to the task of raising money to cure this heartbreaking disease.
Alex will be driving their E15ET VB11 Pulsar. Quite a rig if you ask me!
Alex and the team picked up this 1985 VB11 from a cancer survivor. Not only that, but it’s an ex-Australia Post delivery vehicle. This is why it goes by the name of ‘Postman Pat’ and the theme. The engine was converted to an E15ET shortly after with some support from the local Tas N12 Turbo members. It’s running a reconditioned AFM, new dizzy and rebuilt turbo by GCG. In the tank, an aftermarket 255LPH external pump supports their fuel delivery needs.
The car interior has also undergone a reconstruction, sporting a dash conversion and EXA turbo seats.
In addition to the exterior changes the car is also running Pedders suspension and factory exa wheels!
We hope to provide an update on the event as it progresses!
The team have a Facebook page tracking their journey, you can find it here. If you would like to donate, you can do so here: https://2022.mysteryboxrally.com.au/patnpuss
Teams will drive their own 25+ year old cars along a mystery route in this unique 5 day challenge, all in the name of cancer research. The route is a loop starting and finishing at the same location, but all the other details are kept under wraps, only given to the teams each morning.
